A team of four MBA students from the Faculty of Business Administration took on the best in the world recently to claim a division title and finish as the top Canadian team at the 33rd John Molson MBA International Case Competition.
The team, consisting of Janine Brophy, Daan Goossens, Amy Fisher and David Winsor and coached by Prof. Peggy Coady, was third overall after defeating Heinrich-Heine-Universität Dusseldorf (Germany), the Graduate School of Business from the University of Pittsburgh Katz, Pa. (United States), FIA Business School (Brazil) and the Krannert School of Management from Purdue University, Ind. (U.S.) in a round robin.
Thirty-six teams from around the world took part in the competition, held Jan. 5-10 in Montreal, Que.
Other Canadian teams in the competition were from Brock University, Concordia University, HEC Montreal, McMaster University, Saint Mary’s University, Université de Sherbrooke, Université Laval, University of Calgary, University of Ottawa and Wilfrid Laurier University.
Teams from top universities across the globe, including Yale University, University of Notre Dame, Singapore University, University Technology Sydney and University of Cape Town, also participated.
